Step #6 Prepare for Closing
Sample Closing Checklist

__ Arrange for utilities to be turned on/switched over for the first day in your new home

__ Schedule time off from work if necessary to move

__ Hire professional movers, or rent a moving van for the big day

__ Communicate regularly with your mortgage consultant to ensure the lender has everything they need to process your loan accurately and efficiently

__ Ensure homeowner’s insurance policy is secured

__ Perform final walk-through inspection of your new home, accompanied by your real estate agent, within 24 hours of closing

__ Obtain closing figures from your real estate agent 24 hours prior to closing

__ Obtain bank check in the amount of closing figure indicated above, and have ready to provide to title attorney at closing

__ Don’t forget to get the keys from your agent at closing!
