Step #1 Obtain Pre-Approval
The Pre-Approval Process

#1 Schedule an appointment with a local mortgage consultant

#2 Gather the following paperwork to bring to your meeting with the mortgage consultant:

  • W-2 Forms (2 years' worth) or profit-and-loss statements (for self- employed individuals)
  • Pay stubs (one month's worth)
  • Bank statements (three month's worth) for checking, savings, and other accounts
  • Tax returns (2 years' worth),
  • Mortgage papers for any other property owned
  • Copies of loan papers for other loans (i.e. car loans)
  • Paperwork showing any other debts
  • Telephone numbers and addresses of your workplace, to verify income

#3 Meet with your mortgage consultant and fill out required forms

#4 Mortgage consultant will usually provide you with a pre-approval letter within 24-48 hours of your meeting, when requested.
